Mission
Created in 2006, African Families Synergy "AFS" is a volunteer-operated nonprofit organization based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. AFS mission is to provide help, assistance, and resources needed to disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals and families in African and African refugees in Connecticut through direct services, sustainable community development initiatives, and advocacy.

Vision
We strive to ensure that all individuals and families have access to the resources needed to govern their lives, strengthen their families and community, and exert a positive influence on the world around them.
In our vision we are one human family, rich by its diversity, living a common human-centered, sustainable and peaceful homeland where:
- Love supplants hate, peace replaces violent conflicts and war; and where
all people, men and women, young and
old, regardless of race, faith, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity or
nationality enjoy life of equal opportunity;
- The dynamism of young people and the experience of the elderly
contribute to secure the empowerment of needed peoples, children,
women, and local communities.

Africa Families Synergy values:

love;

African Families Synergy mission is grounding in the following believes:
- Worth and dignity of every person is valued and cannot be limited by
gender, race, ethnicity, class, disability or age.
- Love is a tremendous force that can overcome selfishness and build
bridges between individuals and communities.
- Love and forgiveness should be the foundation upon which can be built
a more secure, comfortable and peaceful life.
- A peaceful society can only be attained if it is based upon equality and
social justice.
We believe in the tremendous force of love that wipes selfishness out the hearts and builds bridges between people.
