African Families Synergy (AFS) is a volunteer-operated USA based nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Connecticut.
AFS strives to help eliminate the roots of poverty within vulnerable communities by providing necessary resources that individual and families need to govern their own lives and influence the world around them.
African Families Synergy solely focuses in addressing the roots of poverty in African communities by working with locally-based organizations to provide financial support for vulnerable children, youth and women within their own communities, their own culture and in their own language.

Therefore, AFS’s focal mission is: to provide and enable greater education to disadvantaged children, youth and women; and to promote peace and love within communities.

African Families Synergy's work is guided by its vision of a just and safe world built on love and peace.
AFS believes that worth and dignity of every person is valued and cannot be limited by gender, race, ethnicity, class, disability or age.
When African Families Synergy struggles against obstacles that hinder peace and accessible education, the roots of its perseverance are indeed its fundamental principles: equality; solidarity; and social justice.
Behind these founding principles lies a siphon of hope to change the unchangeable, to realize the impossible, to meet with the unexpected, and to overcome the insurmountable.

How does Hope
Certainly, Hope for a peaceful society and affordable education should be attainable. But, it must be based on love, equality, and social justice.
African Families Synergy strives to use love to enhance peace, equality, and mutual respect among beneficiaries.
African Families Synergy’s strategy is inspired by Swahili words “IMANI and IMARA”, which mean “Faith and Strong”. IMANI or faith is the soul that strengthens the hope of a successful work. IMARA shows how African Families Synergy will always stand steady and keep up pace throughout the realization of its vision.
This is achievable through development of comprehensive array of programs that clients can access to regain their self-sufficiency. These programs include: referral services; counseling; job-related training; youth leadership development; conflict resolution; and income generation.
